Luke Cage becomes the second Marvel show that has recently got the ax from Netflix. After just two seasons Luke Cage sees an early stoppage, four months after the season aired. Iron Fist first took the dive when it was announced just days before about the sudden cancellation.
With Disney wanting to take its titles into its streaming service, it makes sense as to why Marvel titles are being removed from Netflix. Disney has already established intentions to let its licensing deals with Marvel to expire so that they can shift library content to there own service.
Luke Cage was part of a 5 series deal with Netflix and Marvel, where they made intertwined universe built shows. The original deal saw the addition of The Punisher later on which debuted a great first season.
Out of the originals, we know Luke Cage and Iron Fist are canceled but Daredevil is having its third season alongside another Punisher season. Although these shows are being canceled it would not be surprising to see the characters show up in upcoming seasons of the titles that were renewed.
