Earlier this year, we kicked off our new music spotlight series, #FirstToTheAux. In the months since its release, we have spotlighted new artists like Thutmose, Coi Leray, Dilla Illa, and Cassidy just to name a few. Most recently, we got to chop it up and watch a live performance of series alumni, Cautious Clay. One of the early standouts from the new music series is Baltimore’s own, Jayy Grams.

With a gritty style and bars to match, the Baltimore native has carved out a lane within Hip-Hop that is both reminiscent of the 90’s and innovative. Over the past six months, Grams has appeared on L.A. Leakers and Sway In The Morning. Proving himself bar by bar, Grams has shown that he is one of the most talented emcees in today’s musical landscape.

Alongside Grams, his friends have shown to be just as talented. Fellow lyricists, Von Wilda and Hayelo, have been by Grams side earning their stripes as well. The trio of young rappers makes up one of the most exciting young collectives in Hip-Hop, LOWFi. The movement out of Baltimore has steadily built up its name through a steady string of releases. Earlier this month, the three emcees came together to put out a new freestyle. This Friday, the Baltimore collective went on Ebro’s Beats One Radio to premiere their new track, “LOWFi Anthem”. Stream the whole track above and check out a clip of their new freestyle.
