Lovers And Friends Festival set to debut this spring postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.
The nostalgia-fueled lineup practically broke the internet upon release, causing confusion between both fans and artists if it was real. Headlined by Usher, Lil Jon, Ludacris, Lauryn Hill, and TLC, the inaugural event was set to have a sold-out show.
Now as many festivals are suspending, canceling or postponing events, Lovers & Friends is not exempt. The coronavirus pandemic calling for social isolation has left music fans home. Organizers announced the new date of August 8 and scaled back the event from a 2-day showing to 1-day of performances.
“Hello Friends! Thanks for your patience as we’ve been figuring out how to make the show go on. In light of recent circumstances, Lovers & Friends Festival has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 8 at The Grounds at Dignity Health Sports Park and is now only one day. Ticket purchasers for the original dates will be notified in the next few days with details about their order. We look forward to hosting you this summer ” writes Lovers & Friends organizers on Instagram.
They have released the flyer with the new date which includes most of the original performers, headliners still intact. Jhene Aiko, Megan Thee Stallion, Brandy, Saweetie, Trina, Nina Sky and more are slated to take the stage.
Coachella, Something In The Water, Beale Street Music Festival and more have all opted for later dates, hoping the pandemic deescalates.
