After absolutely bombing in overtime against Michigan State. (which killed my bracket by the way) the Louisville Cardinals will lose two of their best players.
According to The Courier Journal, Montrezl Harrell and Terry Rozier will opt for the 2015 NBA Draft.
“They’re both leaving, yes, 100 percent,” Pitino told reporters. “And it’s the right thing to do for both of them. You all may have some doubts about Terry, but I don’t.”
“Terry looks at home and sees his mom working two jobs, and she’s going 16, 17 hours a day,” Pitino said. “And he says, ‘OK, maybe I wouldn’t be drafted as high as I would be if I waited one more year, but I’d rather sacrifice that for my mom not having to work two jobs.’”
Pitino added that “I think a couple of guys will transfer” in addition to the two pro departures.
That is some story Terry Rozier has. Playing for his mother. So that he can take care of her. Can’t knock that. And Harrell is straight up good. He has that Kenneth Faried type of playing. Hustling and dunking on everybody. Rozier can score. He’s a smooth scorer who can get buckets. But I’m weary of his passing factor. He’s not the most prolific passer in the world. Harrell needs to either gain a consistent jumpshot or become a defensive juggernaut. Something that will make him stand out.
