The California native Lonzo Ball who graduated from Chino Hills High School and UCLA had decided to only workout with the Los Angeles Lakers before the NBA Draft. There has been much scrutiny about selecting him with the 2nd overall pick and a lot of it is due to his father, LaVar Ball. The overnight entrepreneur has been speaking for his son to the media every step of the way, to the point where some people find it to be concerning. However, it seems as if Lonzo prefers to let his game do the talking. He downplayed any influence his father would have on the Lakers’ decision-making and stated that the team’s front office “loves” LaVar.
Lonzo on the Lakers: “They have a lot of good players. I just think they need a leader at point guard. I feel I can bring that to the team.”

Lonzo Ball was asked why he believes the Lakers should take him with the second overall pick, and his reasoning was quite simple.
“The Lakers need a leader.”
Lonzo Ball reportedly had dinner with Lakers head coach Luke Walton, general manager Rob Pelinka, and president of basketball operations Magic Johnson on Tuesday night. He also had plans to have lunch with members of the Buss family following his workout.

In other news, many were surprised to see Lonzo not working out in his in his own custom shoes for Big Baller Brand, the ZO2’s. Instead, he was wearing James Harden’s Addidas Vol. 1’s.
