Ryan had spent the last three seasons with the Tennessee Titans after previously playing for the New England Patriots. In the 2013 NFL Draft, Ryan was selected by the Patriots in the third round out of Rutgers University.
Last season, Ryan was a crucial component of the Titans secondary that made a deep postseason run. The Titan pulled off upset victories over the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens prior to falling to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship.
