Lizzo has reportedly finalized a first-look deal with Jeff Bezos and Amazon. The Detroit native will exclusively create television projects for the tech company’s streaming service, Amazon Prime Video.
“I’m so excited to partner with the amazing team at Amazon,” she said.
“Thank you to Jen Salke and the rest of the team for making this dream come true. I can’t wait to get started and share my vision with the world,” she added.
This a major move for the Pop star that was just making her way through the music industry before bursting on to the scene last summer. This year, she’s earned three GRAMMY awards and is looking to make some more noise musically in the near future. As her star power increases, Amazon will look to cash in on this partnership.
“Lizzo is one of the most exciting, creative, joyful artists in the industry, and it is such a pleasure to announce this new deal with her,” Amazon Studios President Jennifer Salke said.
“She has such a unique perspective and we’re so excited to hear her ideas for new content that our Prime Video customers are sure to love,” Salke added.
Good things to come as Lizzo puts her fingerprints on the television industry.
