After Megan Thee Stallion and GloRilla connected to talk about partying with Beyoncé and growing up in the South, Druski pulled up to Lil’ Yachty’s house for the latest episode of Instagram‘s Close Friends Only. During their conversation, Lil’ Yachty teased his seventh album and Druski hinted at the possibility of working with Kevin Hart on a new movie.
“Me and Kevin Hart talked about doing a movie. I’ll call him right now,” Druski said.
“You ain’t gotta do that…” [call goes to voicemail] Yachty: “Sh*t didn’t even ring – did he give you his fax number?” Lil Yachty replied.
While Hart didn’t pick up for Druski, he did have the opportunity to work with Hart on Thanksgiving. The two met up with Kai Cenat for a Thanksgiving Day stream. However, things didn’t go as planned, leaving Hart and Druski to deal with bedbugs and roaches at Cenat’s house.
“The chemistry all three of us had [me, Kai Cenat and Kevin Hart] – you won’t find that chemistry anywhere. When we were talking to Kai about how his room bad bedbugs – I had to get rid of all of my clothes, I had a bag and had to burn it, Kevin Hart said he had a roach in his bag – we find comedy in all that, man,” Druski said.
Above all else, Druski is thankful to have the support of Hart, who broke on to the scene in a previous generation of comedians that may appear to be at odds with the current generation of comedians.
“A lot of older comedians are being judgmental, kinda like the OGs of rap… you went through that firsthand. Everything they wanted to say about Lil Uzi, Trippie Redd and the rest of the weird dudes of rap, they said to you. I always felt for you on that. A lot of the OGs of comedy are the same way,” Druski commented.
While Druski may not feel that he and Yachty have always received the support of older entertainers, they are both nearing a decade in the business.
“Year 10, bro… what’s your secret to being successful so long?” Druski asked.
“I’ve always been myself. And who I am has either gotten me love or hate. I’m putting in work behind the scenes to maintain my relevancy. I just stay ahead of things,” Yachty answered.
Heading into 2025, Lil’ Yachty and Druski are both poised for major runs. Lil’ Yachty is working on a new project and teasing a croc-skinned edition of the Concrete Boys’ Air Force 1. Meanwhile, Druski is riding the high of the first Coulda Fest and releasing a music video with Snoop Dogg.
