Lil Nas X enlists the talents of Nas for “Rodeo remix” which the two premiered with a performance during the 2020 Grammy award show.
“Nas and Nas X, Big Nas and Lil Nas” raps the Queens-bred artist on his second verse closing out the track. Lil Nas X swift rise to fame with the record-breaking “Old Town Road remix”, establishing his own legacy. It only makes sense for the musician to team up with a living legend with a similar name.

The original track features a verse from a different New York rapper, repping a different borough. Cardi B adds a fiesty verse to the original, twanged out beat. With Nas joining Lil Nas X on “Rodeo” the song takes a turn. While Cardi used the song to explore a tumultuous relationship, Nas delivers familiar, laid back bars with subtle flexes.
Nas joining Lil Nas X signifies the old-school embracing the new, welcoming new styles and flows with open arms. Hopefully, more Hip-Hop artists with historic careers can dip back in and deliver new collabs with rising stars, bridging the gap between generations.
