It may be hard to believe, but only two years have passed since Lil’ Nas X arrived on the scene with his break-out hit, “Old Town Road.” In that time span, he’s rocked the MTV VMA stage, won two Grammy awards and appeared at the exclusive Met Gala. Now, he’s taking the step in his journey. He’s dropping his first full-length studio album, Montero.
At first glance, Montero fits the Georgia native perfectly. From the nudity portrayed on the cover to the high-profile features, it’s extremely eye-catching. However, there’s always more than what meets the eye with Lil’ Nas X. Tracks like “Sun Goes Down” and “Dolla Sign Slime” with Megan Thee Stallion allow fans to see more of who he was before things took off in 2019. With that said, songs like “Industry Baby” and Montero” are still just as grand and cinematic as they were when they came out. All in all, this project does a solid job of mixing in pop style and musical substance.
After years of work, Lil’ Nas X is here to formally introduce himself. Check out Montero below.
