If there’s one thing Lil’ Nas X does better than just about any other artist in music, it is promoting his work through social media in a fresh and unique way. For the last few weeks, the chart-topping pop star has been tweeting about an upcoming court date with Nike regarding the controversial sneakers that appeared following the release of “Montero.” On the day of his first court appearance, the Georgia native unleashed a short clip that featured him portraying both a judge and a defendant. It turns out that he was merely promoting his new single and sharing a teaser for his new “Industry Baby” video.
Just a few days later, Lil’ Nas X is back with the “Industry Baby” video featuring the always hilarious, Jack Harlow. Together, the two poke fun at the legal system, record industry and much more. Not to mention, their new song, produced by Kanye West, also sounds pretty good as well.
“Need to get this album done/Need a couple numb?r ones/Need a plaque on ev?ry song/Need me like one with Nicki now/Tell a rap n*gga I don’t see ya, hah/I’m a pop n*gga like Bieber, hah,” Lil’ Nas X raps.
“My track record so clean, they couldn’t wait to just bash me/I must be gettin’ too flashy, y’all shouldn’t have let the world gas me/It’s too late ’cause I’m here to stay and these girls know that I’m nasty/I sent her back to her boyfriend with my handprint on her ass cheek,” Jack Harlow adds.
“Industry Baby” is the next step on the road to Lil’ Nas X’s highly anticipated debut album. While we wait for it to drop, check out his new video below.
