Tonight is the night! With the summer coming to a close, MTV is ready to put on a show at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. With LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj and Jack Harlow leading the way, the 2022 MTV VMAs will highlight the best and brightest acts in a wide variety of genres. Drake, Doja Cart and Harry Styles are among this year’s most nominated candidates. Alongside those superstars, there is also a set of 26 first-time candidates. Not to mention, Nicki Minaj is set to make her presence felt as she accepts the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award.
“Nicki has broken barriers for women in hip-hop with her versatility and creative artistry,” Bruce Gillmer of Paramount+ said.
“She has shifted the music industry and cemented her status as a global superstar with her crossover appeal, genre-defying style and continuing to be unapologetically ‘Nicki’.”
Nicki Minaj is not only set to host and receive the night’s most prestigious honor, but she’s also set to take the stage as a performer. Flo Milli, Jack Harlow, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, J Balvin and many others are also set to take the stage. The 2022 MTV VMAs also promise to deliver a few surprises along the way.
