Leittia Wright has reportedly been released from the hospital after suffering a minor stunt accident while filming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Those close to the film didn’t provide much detail regarding how the accident happen, but the film is expected to continue filming as previously scheduled.
“Letitia Wright sustained minor injuries today while filming a stunt for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. She is currently receiving care in a local hospital and is expected to be released soon,” a Marvel spokesperson told Deadline on Wednesday.
Wright is expected to fulfill her role as Shuri in the Black Panther sequel. Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o and Angela Bassett will also return for the second film. In addition, Michaela Coel and Dominique Thorne are expected to enter the Marvel franchise. Leading the way, Ryan Coogler will return as director.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will debut in theaters on July 8, 2022.
