NBA teams rarely get an opportunity to acquire a top flight star like Kyrie Irving but recently the point guard reportedly let it be known he no longer wants to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers. There have been some rumors about Kyrie having an issue with LeBron James and the control ‘The King’ has over the organization. An upset superstar means there will be a ton of teams looking to poach him away from his current situation. But getting Kyrie Irving will come at a cost, much higher than what the Indiana Pacers got for Paul George.
Irving had a list of four teams he was interested in joining, the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs but a fifth team has emerged as a possible suitor. The Phoenix Suns, armed with assets and potential difference-maker veterans on their roster, could make a strong offer for Kyrie Irving.
There’s one small issue with a possible Kyrie-to-Phoenix trade. The Suns are reportedly not making their prize rookie Josh Jackson available in a trade and with good reason. But that didn’t stop LeBron James from asking if he’s available in a possible deal.
