LeBron James is one win away from participating in yet another NBA Finals, but his focus is not just on the court. James is using his newly formed More Than A Vote organization to support national nonprofits.
“We are using our influence to fight voter suppression and we have a lot of different ways to reach people,” James said.
Earlier this week, James unveiled the first line of merchandise for his More Than A Vote campaign. Complete with t-shirts, hoodies and more, the line couples fashion with civic duty.
“The connection between fashion and sports is very real and very powerful. We’re excited to give our fans products that help them express themselves the same way we do. These shirts tell your community that you’re in it with us and you are doing what you can to stop systemic racism and voter suppression,” he added.
More Than A Vote pledges that all proceeds will go towards the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. The nonprofit works to “secure equal justice for all through the rule of law, targeting, in particular, the inequities confronting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities.”
More Than A Vote is now available through the campaign’s official website.
