The NBA Summer League in Las Vegas is in full effect, it never gets much of a spotlight because of the ESPY’s and everything else but the tournament continues with or without you tuning in.
Last night, the Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated by the Cleveland Cavaliers, they got beat 88-80. But the Lakers could care less about Summer League, they care more about the health of Larry Nance Jr who left the game with a “Probable” Hand Fracture.
Instead of feeling broke and hungover, the Lakers added their first loss and an unexpected injury to their Summer League experience Thursday night.
Nance took a nasty fall with 35 seconds left in the game after driving to the basket. Lakers trainer Marco Nunez then escorted Nance to the locker room, with X-rays and ice to follow.
“I’ve seen his condition,” Lakers rookie center Ivica Zubac said. “He says it’s broken.” […] The Lakers would not go that far. Nance will return to Los Angeles and see a hand specialist on Friday.
Hopefully it isn’t a fractured hand for Nance, he’s a good player who could be a double-double per game player. According to the Lakers Nance will meet with a specialist today, hopefully we get some good results.
