Kentucky Wildcats junior forward Lance Ware has announced that he has entered the transfer portal and will play elsewhere next season. The upperclassman forward hasn’t quite cracked the rotation for the program in the past three seasons. His minutes have been somewhat inconsistent and with two years of eligibility left, Ware will look to play for a program where he can get more minutes on the court. Transfers from Blue Blood programs have become more popular in the modern era with the new transfer and NIL rules. Kentucky will need to find another player to fill out the roster for next season.

This past season as a junior for the Kentucky Wildcats, Lance Ware averaged 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 65.8 percent and a free throw percentage of 33.3 percent. Ware could be a valuable addition to another program and will likely get plenty of interest among mid-major programs. His time at Kentucky will have been invaluable for him and will be a major boon for his next program. The Wildcats still have a few roster spots to fill and now add one more to that list. Ware will now begin the process of exploring the NCAA transfer portal.
