We’re not sure how much of this to believe, but the Boston Globe is reporting that the Knicks are moving Amare Stoudemire once the season is over. Stoudemire’s possible destination, the New Orleans, for guard Eric Gordon. The trade makes sense because the Knicks can dump Stoudemire’s expiring contract and get some much needed help.
My only question: what about Shumpert and Hardaway Jr.?
In this equation it seems like Shumpert will be the odd man out. He’s injury prone and hasn’t played that well for much of the season averaging 9.3 points on 37% from the field.
The Knicks have limited options to improve this summer but a move they are expected to make is offering the expiring contract of Amar’e Stoudemire to a team that in turn could trade the Knicks the long-term, unwanted contract of an impact player, such as the Pelicans’ Eric Gordon.
