Knicks Hire Jim Cleamons For Coaching Staff
According to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the New York Knicks will hire Milwaukee Bucks assistant Jim Cleamons to join Derek Fisher‘s coaching staff in New York. Cleamons was an assistant on Larry Drew’s staff in Milwaukee last season. Drew was recently replaced by Jason Kidd.
Cleamons comes with plenty of familiarity with Fisher, Knicks president Phil Jackson, and the triangle offense. As expected, Phil is keeping his staff in-house. He served as assistant under Jackson on championship teams in Chicago and Los Angeles, and coached Fisher on the Lakers from 1999 to 2004. Cleamons joins Kurt Rambis on Fisher’s coaching staff.
