A month has passed since Valentine’s Day, but Kinrose is still head over heels in love.
Kinrose connected with Joony for a smooth, bopping, nearly three-minute single, “Undercover.” The record tells the story of a blossoming romance, but they’ve both decided it’s best to keep things under wraps. As he seemingly floats over Broke Boi’s production, Kinrose’s clever wordplay shines through.
“I’m a man, not a heli[copter]. Girl, I won’t hover,” he raps. “[I’m] locked in like a cell[phone]. Aye, hit my number.”
Joony adds to Kinrose’s witty verses with soulful harmonies reminiscent of his recent collaborative EP, JRNY, with Jordan Ward. However, this time around, his latest collaboration will end up on Kinrose’s collaborative EP, Every Garden. Set to be released on March 26, 2025, the EP will feature “some amazing, multifaceted artists across so many different genres.”
“This one’s for the Black genres that raised me, and this one’s for the DMV,” he wrote on Instagram. “[I’ve] been sitting with these songs all winter. Please take them out of my hands now.”
Until Kinrose’s next project hits streaming services at the end of the month, check out the “Undercover” video.
