Toronto native Killy is not just looking to cement his name on the charts. He’s also trying to help the music industry evolve with emerging tech trends.
Earlier this month, the Toronto artist shared the name and artwork for his latest single through NFTs. By way of Rareable, twenty-five fans snatched the opportunity to learn the name of their favorite artist’s single before their friends.
Using NFTs to release key information is becoming more popular by the day. Joining Killy, Post Malone, Lil’ Yachty, Azaelia Banks and a few other artists have opted to release exclusive content through NFTs. Not to mention, The Weeknd said that he may use the cryptocurrency to unleash a new song.
This time around, Killy didn’t release any music through NFTs. Instead, his fans snatched up the “Hyper Rare Demon Face” pack and let others know that his latest single would be called “Pyro.” Just a few weeks later, the single and video are here.
“Pyro” showcases a more fast-paced and aggressive style than he displayed on “Sailor Moon” or “Oh No” with Y2K. If this is the tone for his upcoming album, fans have a lot to look forward to. Check out the single and video below.
