Now this is one of those stories that doesn’t matter in terms of how it will affect the team, in the case the Minnesota Timberwolves. But it’s significant because of who person of interest is. One Kevin Garnett.
Kevin Garnett has been out for five weeks with knee soreness. That’s a substantial amount of time, especially when it’s a guy as ‘advanced’ as Kevin Garnett. Sam Mitchell, T’Wolves head coach has weighed in on it and he says that the T’Wolves are considering shutting KG down.
“It’s a day to day, week to week thing,” Mitchell said on SiriusXM NBA Radio of Garnett’s bothersome right knee. “I’m not even going to promise that you’re going to see him.“
I’m not sure about you, but does this sound relatively final to you? I mean the team can’t tell him to retire but maybe his knees are?
Let’s be honest, the only reason he hasn’t retired is because he came back home to where it all began, Minnesota and he has had the chance to mentor one of the NBA’s brightest stars in Karl-Anthony Towns. If Kevin Garnett was still in Brooklyn he would’ve called it a career long ago.
