Over the last few years, Hip-Hop has produced more joint projects than just about every other genre. Drake and Future put out their project, Offset and 21 Savage released Without Warning and Styles P and Dave East put out Beloved. Most notably, the first family of Hip-Hop put out the Grammy nominated project, Everything Is Love. Despite the amount of joint projects we have received, we have always wanted more. There’s the Drake and Lil’ Wayne project that never came out. In addition, Lil’ Wayne and Juelz Santana never came together to put out their joint project. However, one mythical project seems to stand above all at the moment. Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole have long hinted at a joint project, but the two have never been able to lock in to finish it.
The two have appeared on songs like “American Dream” and “The Ready” together. The two have also hopped on each other’s project for their special “Black Friday” surprise. The closest the duo has come to releasing music from the mythical project came way back in 2010 when Kendrick previewed two unreleased tracks that never came out. Nevertheless, these records have never turned into a full length project. With that being said, there is an inside man that may be able to change all that.
T.D.E DJ, MackWop, put out a video titled, ” I’m gonna put out a new J. Cole and Kendrick record in 2019″. In the video, the DJ noted that he’s the only one capable of “facilitating these verses”. He ended by saying, “If [we’re] being honest, I think I’m going to be the one to make it happen.” This new video comes on the heels of the announcement of the Dreamville Revenge of the Dreamers III project. Hopefully, he can follow through on his promise.
