Kendrick Lamar says he is not working an album, according to LA Times.
The Compton rapper talked about what’s next from him and his reaction to being nominated for eight Grammy’s. Lamar’s nominations are more than any other artist this year.
“It feels great. I’m not only representing myself, but I’m representing my people … people I’ve been familiar with since I was born.”
K.Dot released a soundtrack for the [arguably] most impactful film of the year, Black Panther.
“It was something I dream of as a kid,” Lamar explained. “A superhero who looked like us, talked like us and liked the same music.”
Although he confirmed that he is not working an album, he did reveal that he’s currently writing long-form, not cluing in when any of the material will be released.
