Scott Drew nabbed his third recruit in the past this week with this one being a top 15 recruit. Kendall Brown a wing from Minnesota playing his high school ball at Sunrise Christian in Kansas committed to Baylor. Brown who was seen as a Kansas lean surprisingly announced his commitment, keeping Baylor on a hot streak coming off their successful season cut short. Brown’s commitment rose Baylor to the number one class in the country as of now.
Langston Love, a top 30 recruit and Brown will combine on the wing for Baylor when they get on campus. Brown is Baylor’s first five-star recruit since the 2012 class with Isaiah Austin. There was a time in the late 2000s and early 2010s when Scott Drew was regularly bringing in highly-rated talent. As the last decade progressed that seemed to slow down but he seems to have found that groove again.

Brown should fit in well at Baylor as Scott Drew loves long athletes down in Waco. He’s an athletic wing who can get to the basket and also serve as a secondary ball-handler. We’ll have to see if that ability to create translates to the college game but he’s shown an ability to do it at his current level. He and Love are both known as tough defenders, something Drew had plenty of as he continues to move away from his zone defense.
