Sitting ninth in the Eastern conference standings, the Charlotte Hornets have tried their best to stay afloat since they’ve lost guard Kemba Walker Jan. 28 to a knee injury. Fortunately for Charlotte, it looks like Walker is getting pretty close to returning.

Walker has been itching to return and help out his teammates. In a interview the Charlotte Observer about missing time Walker said,
“It’s miserable, very miserable. I’m just so used to playing all the time and never being injured makes it tougher. It’s really tough. I hate it, to tell the truth.”
“I’m still a leader, They’re my guys. I still want to be into the game.”
With the Hornets already a borderline playoff team with Walker On Feb. 10 they went out and acquired former Minnesota Timberwolves guard Mo Williams who’s been having a really good season. (Remember that 52 point performance in January?) He’s been doing pretty well as a Hornet averaging over 23 points a game since he’s put on that teal, purple and white jersey.
Walker is meeting with the doctor that performed knee surgery in New York on Wednesday to get an update on him returning to court.
Hopefully Walker can get back on the court soon and pair up with Mo Williams as we approach the final stretch of the season. With reports of Paul George nearing a return and the east having spots 7-12 in the standings all within 4 games of each other, the bottom of the eastern conference is about to turn up.
The Charlotte Hornets take on the Los Angeles Lakers this Tuesday in Charlotte 7pm ET.
