Kayla Rae has returned with a new song called “Wasted” with Atlus. Rae’s newest song is a somber, yet relatable effort. Singing off heartbreak, Rae tells the all too relatable tale of feeling like you’ve wasted time with someone you once loved. Adding to the track, Atlus gives the perspective of Rae’s ex. Drinking heavily since the breakup, he tells the story of a man who’s hoping things can one day go back to the way they were before they went their separate ways.
“It was supposed to be a blessing/Something that I’ve never had before/Instead, I’m in here in questioning/What did I even do all of this for,” she sings.
“I’ve been drinking heavy since you walked out/What can I do?/I never thought that we’d fall out,” Atlus counters.
This is Kayla Rae’s first single since she dropped “YKTFV” in December. Over the last few weeks, she has stayed busy by releasing covers of “Girl Like Me” by Jazmine Sullivan, “Stuck On You” by Giveon and several other tracks. Now, she’s back to releasing her original work. Check out “Wasted” below.
