President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and other members of the administration are making an effort to be visible as the 118th United States Congress steps into office. Democrats have gained control of the Senate while the Republican Party has regained control of the House of Representatives. At the nation’s highest office, Biden has indicated that he will run for a second term, but has not officially put forth a statement saying that he will do so. If he does intend to run for another term, he will aim to push forth more of his policy agenda despite pushback from the GOP in the House of Representatives.
