Former Virginia Cavaliers junior big man Kadin Shedrick has announced that he has transferred to the Texas Longhorns for next season. He was considered one of the better big men in the transfer portal this offseason and considered the Duke Blue Devils before picking the Texas Longhorns. With the program trying to build a consistent winner, landing talented transfers will be vital in this new age of college basketball. Shedrick announced his intent to transfer from the Cavaliers and is likely looking for a bigger role after losing minutes in the back half of this past season.

This past season as a junior for the Virginia Cavaliers, Kadin Shedrick averaged 6.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 64.7 percent and a three-point percentage of 20 percent. At the start of this past season, Shedrick had a larger role and looked to be playing very well for the Cavaliers. As ACC play began, the big man lost some minutes in the rotation but continued to play fairly well. He will hope for his role with the Texas Longhorns to be an expanded one in his senior season during the 2023-24 college basketball season.
