It appears that Marvel has found that man that will lead the next chapter of the Captain America story. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Julius Onah will direct the fourth Captain America film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is unclear when production will begin or when the film will go to theaters. However, it is clear that Onah will work alongside writer Malcolm Spellman and actor Anthony Mackie to bring this superhero story to life.
Onah is known to many as the director of The Cloverfield Paradox. However, his story started long before then. His film school thesis at New York University caught the attention of legendary director Spike Lee. From there, his career took off. Over the last few years, he has directed music videos of Avicii, led Octavia Spencer’s Luce and spearheaded The Girl Is In Trouble with Lee.
Onah will look to take on the most high-profile challenge of his career as he attempts to lead one of the most pivotal films in the MCU’s latest phase. More details to come regarding the film in the coming months.
