Actors Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield square off in the first full-length trailer for Warner Bros. Pictures’ Judas and the Black Messiah.
Directed by Shaka King, the fil tells the story of legendary civil rights leader Fred Hampton. Kaluuya takes center stage yet again playing Hampton Stanfield plays the role of William O’Neal, a man coerced by the FBI to help silence the Black Panther Party.
“Chairman Fred Hampton was 21 years old when he was assassinated by the FBI, who coerced a petty criminal named William O’Neal to help them silence him and the Black Panther Party. But they could not kill Fred Hampton’s legacy and, 50 years later, his words still echo…louder than ever,” Warner Bros. Pictures writes.
Detroit’s Algee Smith, Just Mercy’s Darrell Britt-Gibson, If Beale Street Could Talk’s Dominique Thorne, Django Unchained’s Amari Cheatom an Lil’ Rel Howery star in the film. Meanwhile, Ryan Coogler and Charles D. King will produce the film.
Judas and the Black Messiah will debut in theaters in 2021.
