Donning a brown suit and sunglasses, actor Jonathan Majors appeared in a New York courtroom on Tuesday alongside actress Meagan Good. Three months after being arrested in Manhattan, the Creed III stood before Judge Rachel S. Pauley as he awaited the latest development in his legal journey. Not before long, Judge Pauley informed Majors and his legal representation that he would begin trial on August 3, 2023. Shortly thereafter, Majors’ attorney, Priya Chaudhry, issued a statement to the press.
“Within a few weeks of these false allegations, we provided the District Attorney with evidence of Mr. Majors’ innocence. Last week, we delivered additional compelling evidence to the District Attorney,” Chaudry stated.
“Following this, we strongly requested the District Attorney dismiss all charges against Mr. Majors immediately… While we are hopeful that the District Attorney is reviewing these materials in good faith and will do the right thing soon, to accelerate our case, we’ve requested a trial date ASAP.”
Chaudry’s client has been charged with several misdemeanors, including assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault and harassment. The aforementioned charges tie back to an incident in March. The Marvel star is accused of assaulting a 30-year-old woman and leaving her with “minor injuries to her head and neck.” He was arrested on March 25 in Manhattan and released shortly thereafter. Since then, the actor, by way of his attorney, has denied all claims levied against him.
