It does not appear that former President Donald Trump will be indicted by a grand jury in Manhattan on Wednesday.
Former President Donald Trump is currently in legal hot water. The former reality show host has been accused of offering “hush money” to two women in exchange for their silence regarding alleged relationships he had with them. After the payments were made, his representatives allegedly disguised the payments as “legal fees.” As discussion regarding the alleged payments became louder, Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty to a charge related to a $130,000 payment he allegedly offered to Clifford. Now, a grand jury is examining evidence regarding Trump’s alleged involvement and knowledge of these payments. As recently as this past weekend, the former President said that he believed he would be arrested.
“Illegal leaks from a corrupt & highly political Manhattan district attorney’s office … indicate that, with no crime being able to be proven … the far & away leading Republican candidate & former president of the United States of America, will be arrested on Tuesday of next week,” he wrote on Truth Social.
Trump was not arrested on Tuesday Instead, a grand jury in Manhattan received testimony from attorney Bob Costello on Monday. Costello appeared on behalf of the former President to discredit the evidence presented by Cohen.
On Wednesday, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg canceled all events pertaining to the grand jury. However, members of the grand jury will be on standby tomorrow for any events that may occur.
