Earlier this year, news broke that Steve Carrell would be reteaming with Greg Daniels, creator of the US version of The Office on a new Netflix series called Space Force. Not much has been revealed about the series since but Friday a number of pretty big names were added to the cast. According to Variety, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang, Don Lake, and Alex Sparrow have all been cast in the series.
Space Force seems to be a send-up of President Trump’s plans for a sixth branch of the military focused on space. The series will be a workplace comedy revolving around people who work in the titular sixth branch. Malkovich, Schwartz, Newsome, and Slivers are set to star in the series. Yang, Lake, and Sparrow are reportedly attached as recurring guest stars.
Netflix has ordered 10 episodes from the first season of the series with a planned release something next year. Carrell is also expected to star in the series, which many are expecting to feel like The Office in space.
No release date has been announced for Space Force yet.
