John Legend is the latest celebrity to offer their support for Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacy Abrams. Over the weekend, the Grammy Award winner headed down to the Peach State and volunteered in support of Abrams. Legend spent time talking to Abrams’ volunteers and going door to door talking to potential voters.
“I know how important Georgia is to the entire country,” he said.
Legend did not spend time with Abrams, but the gubernatorial candidate did take time to thank him via social media. She also encouraged others to spend time volunteering as Election Day arrives.
“I’m grateful for every volunteer on Team Abrams, including John Legend, for helping to get out the vote this weekend. Help me make history this Tuesday by volunteering with us,” Abrams tweeted.
The chart-topping singer’s support of Abrams did not stop in the state of Georgia. Taking things a step further, he publicly endorsed the gubernatorial candidate as she makes her final plea to voters.
“Georgia voters: I am campaigning for Stacey Abrams for Governor! We’ve seen how hard Stacey has worked for all Georgians,” John Legend tweeted.
“So now, let’s make history on November 08. Vote.”
