Over the past few weeks, loyal Joel Ortiz fans have had the back of their guy. As one of the most respected lyricists in the game, Ortiz has shown time and time again that he can rap with the best of them. Most recently, Ortiz has shown out on two tracks from his upcoming project with Apollo Brown. Today, Ortiz dropped off the third track off of his upcoming project.
His new track, “Reflection”, touches on a lot of things including his relationship with his former Slaughterhouse group members. On the track, Ortiz raps, “It took a sec for me to accept that next time I’m on the road, won’t be no Crook, won’t be no Royce, won’t be no Joe.”
This is a break in direction for the New York rapper who has seemingly stayed out of the back and forth between Eminem and Joe that indirectly involved Royce and Crooked. With Joe sticking to his retirement claims, it appears unlikely that we’ll ever hear any new music from the group. However, Dipset just announced that they got together to record a new album. Not to mention, they have long talked about a completed unreleased album from the group. Anything is possible. For now, enjoy the record and let us know what you think.
