New York Knicks big man Jericho Sims will miss the remainder of the 2023 NBA Playoffs after undergoing shoulder surgery. The surgery on his right shoulder repaired a torn labrum and cuff tendon. According to the medical staff, the surgery was considered a success and will require about five months of recovery time. Sims is expected to be ready for the start of the 2023-24 NBA season. The 24-year-old was in the middle of completing his second season in the NBA while helping the Knicks make the 2023 NBA Playoffs this season.

This season with the New York Knicks, Jericho Sims averaged 3.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.5 assists per game. He paired those numbers with a field goal percentage of 77.6 percent and a free throw percentage of 75 percent. The timing is not ideal for Sims or the New York Knicks. The team just eliminated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round four games to one game and will now advance to the second round of the NBA Playoffs. Now the Knicks will face off against the Miami Heat in the second round of the Playoffs. We here at Def Pen Sports wish Sims the best in his recovery and eventual return to the basketball court.
