Jaron “Boots” Ennis will find his way back into a boxing ring this spring at a location that has not yet been determined. Veteran boxing journalist Keith Idec has reported that Ennis has agreed to a multi-fight deal with Showtime that will allow him to get back into the ring on May 14, 2022. This time around, Ennis will square off against Custio Clayton. Sporting the nickname of “War Machine,” the Canadian fighter is a decorated amateur with a spotless record of 19 wins, zero losses and 12 knockouts. However, the undefeated fighter is nearly a decade older than Ennis and considered a massive underdog. Fortunately, they’ll be able to settle things inside the ring.
Ennis and Clayton’s bout will serve as the co-main feature for a Showtime evening boxing event. While the two undefeated fighters share the ring in a undecided location, Brian Castano and Jermell Charlo will return for round 13 of their battle that ended in a draw last year. In their second fight, the two hope to crown an undisputed super welterweight champion once and for all.
