Janelle Monáe is headed to a city near you! The Kansas City native has unveiled the dates for her forthcoming Age of Pleasure tour. Named in honor of her forthcoming LP, the tour will kick off in Seattle, Washington on August 30th before making stops in Vancouver, Portland, Kansas City, Minneapolis and Chicago among other cities. Ultimately, the North America tour will conclude with stops in Houston, Austin, Phoenix, San Francisco and Inglewood in October.
The announcement of her latest North American tour arrives just a week before she is set to release her latest LP, Age of Pleasure. Serving as her first solo project of the 2020s, the 14-track project will take on listeners on a ride with special guests like Nia Long, Doechii, Grace Jones, Egypt 80, Seun Kuti, Sister Nancy, Amaarae and CKay. To get the ball rolling, she has already unloaded “Float” and “Lipstick Lover” from the forthcoming project.
“As we enter into The Age Of Pleasure, ‘Lipstick Lover’ is our ‘freea**mothaf*cka’ anthem inspired by f.a.m. for f.a.m.,” she said about the new album.
“This is our oasis made with love, rooted in self-acceptance, throbbing in self-discovery, and signed with cherry red kisses from me to you.”
Check out the complete set of dates for the upcoming tour before she is set to hit the road later this summer.
