For the first time in nine iterations, the Most Valuable Prospects series made its way to Puerto Rico.
In the main event, 23-year-old Jan Paul Rivera earned his eleventh professional victory against the previously unbeaten Andy “Skeletor” Beltran. All three judges deliver the following scorecards in favor of the prospect from Puerto Rico: 80-72, 79-73 and 80-72.
Rivera’s performance was complemented by the outing of fellow Puerto Rican prospect Krystal Rosado. The Amanda Serrano protege won by unanimous decision in a six-round bout against Perla Lomeli. All three judges handed in the following scorecards declaring Rosado the winner: 60-54, 59-55 and 60-54.
“I’m incredibly proud to launch MVP Puerto Rico and showcase the exceptional talent emerging from this island,” Most Valuable Prospects Founder Jake Paul said.
“I have complete confidence that Jan Paul Rivera will become Puerto Rico’s next great champion. His performance tonight was just a glimpse of what he’s capable of. Together, we’re committed to developing and supporting these fighters as they pursue greatness in the ring. This is just the beginning for MVP in Puerto Rico, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these incredible athletes.”
