The Los Angeles Rams have traded star cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Miami Dolphins for a 2023 third-round draft pick and tight end Hunter Long. This offseason Los Angeles made it clear that they were willing to move Ramsey for draft capital. With the team needing to clear a lot of cap space this offseason, moving Ramsey made some sense. Other star players on the roster are also rumored to be on the trade block now that the bill has come due for the team after adding several star players to win a Super Bowl.

This past season with the Los Angeles Rams, Jalen Ramsey recorded 64 solo tackles, 88 total tackles, 18 passes defended, two sacks, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery that he returned for 12 yards, and four interceptions that he returned for 53 yards and zero touchdowns. Ramsey is still a top cornerback in the NFL and joins a Dolphins defense that already had several top NFL stars.
The two teams are trending in opposite directions right now with the Rams declining and the Dolphins trying to surge. With this trade, Miami will have Super Bowl aspirations heading into the 2023-24 NFL season. The Rams with less draft capital than really need, will soon be entering a long rebuild.
