On Saturday, July 20, 2024, Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will meet for one of the most highly-anticipated sports entertainment events of the 21st century. Wearing 14-ounce gloves and designer trunks, the two men will meet at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas for an eight-round pro boxing match. Not only will it be one of the most unexpected clashes in the square circle of truth, but it will also present the largest age gap in a professional heavyweight fight. Despite the 30-year age difference, Paul says he has no intention of taking it easy on the former heavyweight champion.
“Absolutely not,” Paul told TMZ Sports when asked if he would take it easy on Tyson.
“Mike Tyson is a killer. He’s ruthless. He’s the most vicious champion ever. So, I have to channel that Mike Tyson energy to finish him. And the legend must fall.”
Paul’s opponent, Mike Tyson, is equally confident heading into fight night. The soon-to-be 58-year-old fighter has said that he’s responsible for making Paul into a star after offering him a spot on the undercard of his exhibition with Roy Jones Jr., but he promises to finish the emerging boxer in July.
“This is just stealing money. I’m up here stealing money fighting [Paul],” Tyson said during a press conference in May.
“I started Jake off, and I’m going to finish him.”
