After making it known he wanted out of Jacksonville just two weeks into the NFL season, Jaguars star cornerback Jalen Ramsey finally got his wish. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jags have traded Ramsey to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for three draft picks within the next two years. Jacksonville will receive LA’s first-round picks in both the 2020 and 2021 drafts along with an additional fourth-rounder in 2021.
It’s happening: Former Jaguars’ CB Jalen Ramsey is being traded to the LA Rams for two first-round picks in 2020 and 2021, and a fourth-round pick in 2021, source tells ESPN.

Just to clarify: it’s a one in each of the next two years and a four, too. https://t.co/SnZqnMUZjX

Weeks of tension had gone by between Jalen Ramsey and the Jags, as the two were both uncertain about what the future held. Ramsey was selected fifth overall in the 2016 NFL Draft and has certainly lived up to his pre-draft hype, establishing himself as one of the premier DBs in the NFL.
Ramsey exemplified Jacksonsville’s hard-nosed play style in recent years and was responsible for igniting one of the best defensive units the NFL has ever seen when they made an AFC Championship run back in 2017.
However, Ramsey’s relationship with the organization began going south when he felt he wasn’t being utilized properly, as their defense changed to more of a zone scheme this offseason. This all came to a head when Ramsey and head coach Doug Marrone got into a verbal spat on the sidelines during the second quarter of their 13-12 Week 2 divisional loss to the Houston Texans.
Ramsey would request a trade the following morning and now it’s become a reality, as he heads to a Rams team looking to desperately get back on track. Ramsey will be thrust into a huge role in LA’s secondary immediately with Aqib Talib on IR and Marcus Peters being shipped off to Baltimore. Expect Ramsey to make his debut this Sunday when LA travels to Atlanta for their Week 7 matchup against the Falcons.
