Bel-Air‘s Jabari Banks is set to star alongside Tell Me Everything‘s Callina Liang and Marvel’s Benedict Wong in the English adaptation of Bad Genius. Led by Picturestart and Picture Perfect Federation, the project will be directed by JC Lee and co-written by Julius Onah.
“The English remake is billed as a high-stakes, high-octane thriller about a diverse group of young people who team up to fight the system of injustice and inequity and take down the rigged academic institutions around them,” a brief logline from Deadline reads.
At this time, it is unclear what role Banks, Liang and Wong will take on in the film. However, it is clear that production is expected to begin in May.
“I am so excited to share a new take on what was already a wildly successful and remarkable film,” Bad Genius Director JC Lee said.
“I can’t wait to work with this fantastic, innovative group of artists, drawing on our diverse array of real-world experiences to make a film as thrilling and fun as the original.”
