Dreamville’s own Bas has hinted at the release date for J. Cole’s next album. In a recent Instagram post, the New York native says Cole’s next project, The Off Season, will arrive in two weeks.
Previously, fellow Dreamville artist Olu indicated that The Off-Season had been delayed in part by the COVID-19 pandemic. As more American residents become vaccinated, it appears that the Dreamville CEO feels that no is the right time to come with new music.
“Cole album’s coming. It’s in customs right now,” EarthGang’s Olu told fans in July.
“Cole album gotta get through customs ’cause you know, corona.”
If his album does not come in two weeks as Bas suggested, it would immediately follow the next release from Top Dawg Entertainment. Just hours before Bas posted the new to his Instagram account, TDE shared a cryptic trailer to announce new music would be coming on May 7. At this time, it’s unclear if a new album or a new song is coming. Furthermore, Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad and SZA are also slated to release new music this year. In the event that Kendrick Lamar does release new music, it would set up nicely for The Fall Off Era to begin the following week. It would also tease the joint album between the two that we will probably never receive.
STOP WHAT YOU’RE DOING! J. COLE IS COMING! “The Off-Season. pack your bags. ? in two weeks.”
