All good things must come to an end and Insecure is no exception. Actress and producer Issa Rae has announced that her hit show, Insecure, will end after the fifth season. For Rae’s biggest fans, this comes as no surprise given her determination to concisely wrap-up the series and avoid lingering on for dozens of seasons.
“Prentice and I are so grateful that HBO believed in our show from the beginning and kept faith in us to see our vision through the end,” Rae said.
“We always planned to tell this story through five seasons, but we couldn’t have made it this far without the tremendous support of our audience.”
With that said, fans should not be worried. Rae will be back very soon. She has announced that she is working on two more series for HBO. Him or Her will be created alongside Travon Free. The show will follow the life of a bisexual Black man. Meanwhile, Sweet Life will tell the story of Black elites in Baldwin Hills.
Rae is not the only one working with HBO. Insecure star Natasha Rothwell is also working on a series of her own for HBO. Not to mention, producer Prentice Penny has also signed a deal with HBO.
