In a short statement after the suspension announcement, Head Coach Ime Udoka said the following: ” I want to apologize to our players, fans, the entire Celtics organization, and my family for letting them down. I am sorry for putting the team in this difficult situation, and I accept the team’s decision. Out of respect for everyone involved, I will have no further comment.” The Boston Celtics are coming off a 51-31 record and a trip to the NBA Finals in what was Udoka’s first year as the Head Coach. They were considered a favorite to win the NBA Championship heading into the 2022-23 NBA season.
