Hard work and patience can off pay off the entertainment industry. With the help of Emily Spivey, How I Met Your Mother creators Craig Thomas and Carter Bays wrote a script for a show called How I Met Your Father back in 2014. Unfortunately, the show was not picked up initially and went through a number of showrunners. Through it all, the trio that put together the pilot back in 2014 stuck with the vision of the show. Now, it appears that it will come to life.
Hulu has picked up the show and it looks like the show has a lead, Hilary Duff. The 10-episode debut season will follow the story of Duff’s character, Sophie, as she explains to her son how she met his father. In her story, we find Sophie working with her friends to discover who they are and what they want out of life.
“Isaac and Elizabeth have an inspired take on this new version that honors what Carter and Craig created with the original and moves the franchise forward. Isaac and Elizabeth have proven to be rich storytellers and great partners to us at Hulu Originals and across the Walt Disney Company family,” Craig Erwich of Hulu told Deadline.
“Coupled with the passion and infectious energy Hilary brings to every role she takes on, we can’t wait to suit up and bring audiences How I Met Your Father.”
At this time, there is no word as to when the show will begin production or debut on Hulu.
