She’s ready to set the house on fire! She’s ready to burn it to the ground like Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in ’94.
Honey Bxby channels the emotion of a scorned, mistreated lover in her latest single, “Left Eye.” Backed by “Quiet Storm” inspired production from Worldwide Fresh, the New Jersey native allows betrayal and a bit of Hennessy to fuel an anthem for those who are fed up with their significant other.
“That’s the last time you’ll call me [a] b—h. I’m going to show you what crazy is,” she sings.
“Left Eye” lives in the realm of Honey Bxby’s previous releases, including “Touchin'” and “Get Your Lick Back.” However, the topic and the passionate vocal performance she displays on her latest release separates it from the classic Mobb Deep hit and allows “Left Eye” to stand on its own. The only downside of the track is that it’s not longer.
“Creating ‘Left Eye’ was really dope. At first, I was nervous doing another sample. [I was] super nervous, but I ended up loving the record and I hope fans will too,” she said.
“Left Eye” adds to a steady stream of releases from the rising R&B artist, following “Touchin” with Capella Grey, Kaliii and Busta Rhymes as well as “Bonnie & Clyde” featuring Fivio Foreign. As the year winds down, Honey Bxby positions herself for what could be a major run in 2025. Until then, check out “Left Eye” below.
