Atlanta Hawks big man Al Horford is a quality target in free agency this summer. Several teams have expressed their interest in Horford in advance, all of whom are looking to make upgrades in their front court.
According to ESPN’s Darren Wolfson, the Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat are considered to be in the running for Horford:
Heard today Wizards/Celtics/Heat also expected to be in mix for Horford. #Twolves likely call. But won’t get him. https://t.co/4Jt06QC6jp

The Pistons, Magic, Lakers, and Rockets are teams reportedly interested in pursuing Horford this summer. Only one team mentioned by Wolfson, the Boston Celtics, have been pegged as a potential favorite to sign Horford outside of Atlanta.
The Heat emerge as a contender for Horford assumedly due to possibly losing Hassan Whiteside this summer. Whiteside is reportedly being targeted by the Mavs, Celtics and Lakers. Replacing him with Horford would keep Miami on a healthy competitive track, and being able to pair him with a healthy Chris Bosh would obviously be ideal.
Could the Wizards make a steal and nab Horford? They are in dire of need of more complimentary talent around their dynamic backcourt.
The Hawks traded Jeff Teague and seem to be rebranding, but that doesn’t mean they won’t make their own push for Horford to re-sign and be part of it. Regardless, other teams in the East are going to have Horford’s attention.
